I am sorry to hear of your troubles with the Bentley CD. This first run of CD's are on CD-R media which some CD-ROM drives have a hard time reading (I have one myself), Do you know what brand and speed of CD-ROM drive you have?
Also what speed is your computer? How much RAM?
The minimum configuration is a Pentium 166 and a 4x CD-ROM drive.
Our second run of CD's will be "manufactured" CD's which will eliminate the above troubles which it sounds like that is the problem for you. Do you have another computer to test it out on? I will send a CD from the second run as soon as they are available.
When running from the CD there is nothing that would do anything to windows or anything on your hard drive. Have you run any other multimedia programs on that system, With the "...at times Dark Screen..." Sounds as if there may be some "Windows" issues going on? Do you regularly delete any tmp files from your system?(if not close any open programs and go to "find" in your start menu..then "files or folders" then type in *.tmp in the "named" box, and "look in" your C: drive...if there are any you should delete them. This may help some.
I hope we get you fixed up.
